Reasonably, you should be training from 12 to 18 units through mid- to lategame.I also did this mostly in context of Fates, since you asked about class sets – the numbers game changes a bit in other games so these aren’t fixed relative to the rest of the series. I bolded the “main theme” / tl dr version for each paragraph so if extrapolation isn’t your thing, you can just scan those really quick. Thanks for such a thought provoking ask!Ĭhallenge accepted. Well I hope these thoughts helps and that your play through is a ton of fun. That’s one of the reasons it has so much replay-ability and that people do things like all Butler runs lmao. The thing that’s great about Fates is that no two armies could possibly be the exact same. Shigure or Kiragi can both potentially be fantastic butlers but for completely different reasons. This might all sound complicated but when everyone is the same class you really have to dig deep to bring out what the unit does best. Yes they can inherit the class from parents like Jakob but on the other hand they could marry or buddy Dwyer instead. Also choose the parents of your child units carefully. You wouldn’t want to marry Jakob and Felecia to eachother for example. Try to spread out the inheritance of the Maid/Butler class so you have has many as possible and theres little to no overlap. While a unit known for crits or has access to Death Blow like Takumi or Rinkah could use a Barb Shuriken. Maybe a more supportive units with replicate like Setsuna should wield Saizo’s star and Kaze’s needle. Get as many as you can and think carefully about who should carry what. There are actually a loooot of different shurikens to look at.Eventually you might just annoy them to death! Giving a unit after battle skills like Poison Strike, Grisly Wound, and Savage Blow will add to the impact of using shurikens to lower the enemies stats. For example if your butler attacks and does absolutely no damage it can still be fine. If someone you like doesn’t pack enough punch then they can easily be a chip unit. The skills “Solidarity” and “Tactical Advice” help the supporting role too. I personally have a Setsuna!Dwyer with even offensive stats and this skill helps a lot to tip the scales in my favor. It’s effect is as follows: “Add half Mag or Str to the other value when attacking. I bring this up because this class learns “Ignis”. The seal for this class can be obtained from the “Hidden Truths 1″ DLC mission. Male units that happen to have balanced stats are grat candidates for the DLC class of “Grandmaster”.Asugi and Kiragi for example can both A support Dwyer. Also be on the look out for who these units can buddy with in order to pass the Butler and Maid class through the Friendship seal. Anyone Felecia, Jakob, Dwyer, and an Avatar with “troubodour” as their talent will pass Butler/Maid on to their spouse through the use of a partner seal.Thoughts and things things to think about: like aura skills (stuff like Amaterasu and Gentilhomme) or just being able to heal more units. Like Ninjas who can have Shurikenfaire or Mechanist who can have Replicate for assistance in support. I also suggest Male because then you’ll get Felecia sooner which in my opinion is just overall better then Jakob (as a healer) but I’ll talk about her and Jakob later.Īnyone who naturally has/gains use of shuriken. That way you can still pull off crits and trigger skills with regular throwing weapons instead of using the magic flame shuriken which can’t do that. I suggest going full physical with boon and bane of +Str/-Lck. Male Avatar: Choose “Troubodour” as your talent to gain access to Butler. Maybe I’ll do the same with maids…Īnyway. A lot of this is just a general look at various aptitudes. I’ll admit, Butler-only runs are not my area of expertise. Generally high damage units such as Charlotte, Effie, Keaton, and Kagero won’t hurt, either, as they can be your “Battle Butlers(/Maids)”. These are all units who can potentially fill either a magic or physical role as Butlers/Maids. Sakura, Saizo, Azama(ish), Hayato, Oboro, Scarlet, maybe Azura. Even if not, you’ve still got Camilla, Niles, Odin, If you have enough Flame Shurikens, all your normal magic units.
